Security
Two-factor authentication is an additional security measure that we use to ensure that no unauthorized individuals attempt to pay for orders at myWorld with credit available on your profile (Cashback, myWorld eVouchers, Shopping Points). For this purpose, we will send you a text message or email with a PIN code to the phone number or email address stored in your profile. With this PIN code you can complete your payment and thus your order.
If you redeem Cashback, a myWorld eVoucher or Shopping Points with an equivalent value of MYR115 or more when placing an order at myWorld, a text message or email with a PIN code will be sent to the telephone number or email address stored in your profile. Enter this PIN code in the corresponding field and you can complete the payment process and thus your order.
For two-factor authentication, you can use text message or email. Therefore, please make sure that your phone number and email address are correct in the personal details of your profile under "My Settings".
The two-factor authentication is triggered as soon as the value of the credit you redeemed (Cashback, myWorld eVoucher, Shopping Points) reaches 25 EUR or more. This can occur in the following ways:
- You redeem a myWorld eVoucher or Cashback worth 25 EUR or more at the time of payment.
- You redeem Shopping Points on a Deal and save 25 EUR or more.
- The value of redemption and savings together add up to 25 EUR or more. For example, if you redeem ten Shopping Points for a product that normally costs 100 EUR, so that you only pay90 EUR for it, and then redeem another 20 EUR myWorld eVoucher, so that you only have70 EUR left, which you pay for with a credit card, the Shopping Points and the myWorld eVoucher together will have brought you a value of 30 EUR. Therefore, you will trigger the two-factor authentication during the payment process.
Please check if the telephone number that you stored in the personal details of your profile under "My Settings" is correct. If it is no longer correct, please update it. You also have the option to have the PIN code sent to the email address stored in your profile. Please ensure that the address that is listed in the personal details of your profile is also correct. If all entries are correct and you still have not received a PIN code, then please contact the myWorld.com Team.
If you've received a PIN code when neither you nor someone with your permission has requested it, this could be an indication that someone else has gained access to your profile. In this case, please contact our myWorld.com Team as soon as possible.
A unique and secure password is the best way to protect your account from being taken over by someone else. If you are worried about the security of your account because:
- You use the same password on multiple platforms
- You know of a third party who knows your password or could guess it
- You often receive emails asking you to confirm the change of your email
- Your password does not meet the current minimum standard
- You have other security concerns
then we strongly advise you to change your password. Passwords for the myWorld Website must at least meet the following criteria
- Must be at least 8 characters long
- Contain at least one letter (a-z or A-Z)
- Must contain at least one other type of character (number, special character, ...)
- Cannot contain any spaces at the beginning or end.
